I am going to show you how to make tasty Bharwa Karela recipe. I have tried to keep this recipe simple and short so that you all can cook it at home easily.
So, Let's start and cook healthy.
Ingredients:
Karela (Bitter Gourd) - 250 grams Onion - 2 cups Mustard Oil - 2 table spoon
Spices -
Salt - 1 table spoon, Kitchen King - 1 Table Spoon, Coriander Powder - 1 tea spoon, Amchoor Powder - 1 tea spoon, Turmeric Powder - 1 tea spoon, Red Chili Powder - 1 tea spoon
Recipe:
First of all wash the bitter gourd thoroughly. Now we have to peel the outer layer of all the Karelas and keep them aside for atleast half an hour. Add few pinch of salt in the Karelas and let them dry. Adding salt to them will reduce the bitterness and it will taste good.
Do not throw the outer layer as we are going to use them later and make stuffing with that. Sprinkle salt on it as well. Keep it aside for half an hour to one hour.
Put the pan in the gas and let it heat for 3-4 minutes. Add mustard oil and heat it for another two minutes. Now put the karelas in the oil and fry them until they have brown texture. Fry all of them and keep them aside. Now we will prepare the stuffing for the Karelas. Cut the onions and mix with the outer layer of karela and mix them together. Put the mixture in the pan now and keep stirring till the onion has a brown texture. Time to add all the spices now and mix them well with onion and karela outer layer mixture.
Cook it for another 5 minuts covering the lid of the pan and your stuffing is ready. Take the mixture out of the pan and let it cool down for five minutes. Once it is in the romm temperature, fill the stuffing in the karelas one by one and there you go. Your delicious Bharwa Karela is ready to be served. Garnish them with green coriander leaves.
